Photography | Lenses In Photography

Just having a normal or good camera is not going to get you the best photographs. Most of us who take photographs or learning photography are novice in the art
world, but with the right equipment and techniques, our photography status can be raised or elevated to a new level. Lenses are
essential equipment especially when you decide on a medium you will want to train in. Most professional photographers choose one area or field of
photography to specialize in.
Different Types Of Lenses
35-80 mm Lens
There are many different types of lenses available, for example, the standard 35-80mm lenses, the telephoto lenses and the
panoramic lenses. Most of the basic point and shoot type will also come with a 35-80 mm lens. Usually when you purchase a camera casing, they will include the standard
lens with it. Most lenses are not fixed and are interchangeable. It is highly recommended that you should stick with the same
brand of lenses as your camera and make sure the diameter of both is similar. The diameter of most lenses should be similar as long as you
keep to the same brand. The 35-80 mm reading tells you the distance or the extent of reach. While you can take pictures several miles away
with the standard lens, you will not be able to achieve the distinction of features in the print that you desire. The standard lens is only
great for close up or near distance shots.
75-300 mm Lens
To achieve more defined photographs of subject miles away, you will require a longer distance lens. There are many selections of telephoto
lenses available in photography. One of which is the 75-300 mm lens. While this is not as big or massive as other telephoto lenses you may see a
professional carrying around with, it is definitely a great step up or improvement for landscape and wildlife photography, when your subject is in some
distance away. When you start to shift from the usual 35mm into something longer range and larger, it is good to have a stabilizer with the lens.
A stabilizer will ensure you hold the camera steady for clearer shots even if your hand may moves a little bit.
Panoramic Lens

After you have move into the telephoto lens you may want to invest in other accessories to help you with angles and light. Panoramic photography is
another way to take spectacular and marvellous landscape photos. The panoramic lens enables you to widen the view of the photograph, especially when using
with a digital camera. If there is a mountain range or glacier that you want to capture the whole picture, without editing or pasting them
together using Photoshop, the panoramic lens is the best accessory to use. Even with the film cameras, you can use a panoramic lens to
widen the photograph.
Mobile Tripod
Whether you are a novice or professional photographer, you will want to improve and maximize your photograph taking skills. The next equipment
you may consider purchasing is a mobile tripod that will assist you when using your larger lenses and help to stabilize the camera even more.
Tripods are also very useful equipment when taking or capturing portrait photography as well.
All mediums in photography require the usage of moderate to top of the line camera equipment and accessories to produce photographs with
excellent quality. Good photography also depends very much on the skills and the keen eye of the photographer. Lenses are just an additional part
of photography when you start to study the art. If you have any questions on the usage of various lenses or equipment, the best places to find
answers are your local photography shops or get connected to the Internet and perform online searches on the topic.
